Millburn was Inverness' first whisky distillery, indeed it was one of the first to be licensed in Scotland in 1825. Reportedly established by Mr Welsh in 1807. Initially it struggled due to the amount of local illicit distilling and changed hands several times before coming under the DCL banner in 1943.
Booth's, the London Gin company, owned the distillery for less than a year when it was severely damaged by fire and had to be completely rebuilt.
The distillery was closed in 1985 and sold to the Beefeater restaurant chain in 1990. Since that moment it changed it's name several times finally becoming “The Auld Distillery”. As you drive into Inverness from the Aberdeen road you pass the hotel and restaurant on the left handside.

This year The Auld Distillery cellebrates 200 years. We are giving you a chance to try it's best original 25 year old single malt distilled at Millburn Distillery in august 1976, there were only 270 bottles of this rare malt produced.
